The HC16, icon of the sport catamaran
Its silhouette is quickly identifiable: with its banana hulls, it is the archetype of the beach catamaran. The regatta circuit is highly developed but its supremacy is threatened by the SL 16, selected by the ISAF for the young world championships and the Nacra 5 on which young sailors compete.
The versions of the Hobie 16
There are several versions of the Hobie 16 : Classic, LE, Club, Easy/Junior and with asymmetrical spinnaker for the regatta sailors. The Hobie 16 is still produced by Hobie Cat at the moment, it is the last model with the Hobie Wild Cat in fibreglass in the range.
Second-hand market
This boat, the most produced sport catamaran in the world has a rich second-hand market. You can find them at all prices from 1000€ and up to 5000€ and more for recent models equipped regatta. Trailers and trolleys for Hobie Cat 6 are on the other hand becoming rarer.
